2012 Fireman Appreciation Dinner
Saturday evening Department 5 honored their fireman with a Fireman Appreciation Dinner. Thank you to the 2011 firefighters and good luck in the coming year! Chief Starcher recognized Ron Bickel and Tyler Starcher as the Senior and Junior Firefighters with the highest call attendance. Jim Steele and John Miller were also acknowledged for their hard work on filing all the required paperwork for the grants and the budget. A big THANK YOU to Mike, the kitchen staff and everyone that brought a dish the food was FANTASTIC! It was a great time for the fireman to relax and enjoy each others company before doing what they do best....helping the residents in the community. Thank you for the time you volunteer and putting your lives on the line.
Old State Road Fire January 29 2012Sunday January 29, 2012 at 12:09 AM Department 5 was dispatched along with Department 7 and CLASS for a structure fire on Old State Road. The structure was an older apartment building. Residents helped to keep the fire contained until crews arrived on scene. 5-9 and 5-1 reported to the scene with crews to assist CLVFD. No entrapment or injuries were reported. North Lake Road Fire January 28, 2012At 6am on Saturday January 28, 2012 Deptarment five was dispatched to assist House 17 with a garage fire on North Lake Road. It is reported that smoke had started filling into the house which sounded off the smoke alarms. Crews arrived quickly and were able to put out the fire with little to no damage to the house. No injuries were reported. Andover VFD, CLPVFD, Summit, Linesville, Jamestown and CLASS were all on scene to assist House 17. Williamsfield, OH Fire January 21, 2012Saturday Morning at approximately 4:15 am CLPVFD was dispatched on a RIT call. 5-9 and 5-3 responded to the scene with crews, where multiple departments assisted Andover VFD with the extinguishment of the structure fire.

Control Burn with North Shenango VFDTuesday Night Drill 11/15/2011 Tuesday night CLPVFD was invited to attend a control burn with North Shenango VFD. The burn was located on North Lake Road, Espyville. Control burns are an excellent learning experience for seasoned firefighters as well as new members and juniors.
